Sony Xperia Z5, Z5 Compact and Z5 Premium News: Details Leaked Ahead of IFA 2015

Japanese tech titan Sony is scheduled to host a media event on Sept. 2, a few days before the IFA 2015 trade show, which will be held in Berlin, Germany, from Sept. 4 to 9. It is expected that Sony will launch its next generation Xperia flagship devices at the event, because the company used the even to unveil the Xperia Z3, Z3 Compact and Z3 Tablet Compact last year.

According to a report in IB Times, Sony is expected to introduce three new Xperia models at the upcoming IFA trade show - the Xperia Z5, its compact model called the Z5 Compact and the Z5 Premium. Anonymous sources told Phone Arena that the Xperia Z5 will come with a 5.2-inch screen rendering resolution of 1080x1920 pixels, while the Xperia Z5 Compact will sport a smaller 4.6-inch screen offering HD resolution of 720x1280 pixels.

There are reports that the Xperia Z5 will be powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon 810 chip featuring an octa-core processor clocked at 2GHz. In addition, the smartphone will incorporate Adreno 430 graphics unit, 3GB RAM and 32 GB internal storage. Xperia Z5 will boast a 23-megapixel rear primary camera, alongside an 8-megapixel front-facing snapper for selfies and video chats.

The report in Phone Arena further claims the 5.5-inch Xperia Z5 Premium will come with QHD resolution at 1440 x 2560 pixels. This model will sport a 23-megapixel rear snapper that can capture 4K videos. The Xperia Z5 as well as its other variants will come with fingerprint scanner on the side of the phone. In fact, the anonymous source has also provided a screenshot of the Xperia Z5 smartphone, showing that the Power and Volume keys are positioned way off at the right side of the phone.
