Sony Xperia Z5 Rumors: New Reports Suggest Device to Come with High-End Autofocus Camera
Japanese tech titan, Sony has officially announced that it would introduce a new smartphone, Xperia Z5, at the upcoming IFA 2015 in Berlin, Germany, on Sept. 2. In an official tweet, Sony has hinted that the upcoming handset's camera will incorporate advanced focus features.
IB Times reports that a tweet published by Sony on its Great Britain Twitter account carries a blurred image along with a text that reads a new handset with "greater focus" will be unveiled on Sept. 2. Meanwhile, Phone Arena conjectured that as the size of the upcoming handset appears to be smaller compared to the hands holding it in the image, it is likely that the image features the Sony Xperia Z5 Compact.
It is rumored that Sony will unveil the Xperia Z5, a phablet device with 5.5 inches display alongside the Xperia Z5 Compact with 4.7 inches display. In 2014, Sony had displayed the Xperia Z3 and the Xperia Z2 Compact at the IFA event.
Sony recently launched the Xperia M5, which is enabled with a hybrid autofocus system, and it is reasonably priced at $400. Hence, it is expected that the Xperia Z5 will feature a further advanced autofocus system.
According to rumors, the Sony Xperia Z5 and the Xperia Z5 Compact will feature the Sony IMX240 sensor, which is the same camera sensor found on the recently released Samsung Galaxy Note 5 and Galaxy S6 Edge+.
Pocket-Lint reports that both the upcoming handsets will sport a 20.7-megapixel rear-facing primary camera alongside an 8-megapixel front-facing camera. Speculations are rife that the Xperia Z5 will be powered by the Snapdragon 820 chipset together with 3 GB of RAM.
The other features of the Xperia Z5 and the Xperia Z5 Compact include the USB Type-C connector and fingerprint scanner. It is expected that both these handsets will come with Android 5.1.1 Lollipop. In addition, they will also be the first Sony smartphones to receive Googles latest mobile operating system, Android M OS.
