Sony Xperia Z5+ Details Leak News: Device to Sport 5.7-Inch Display, Pack Snapdragon 820 Processor
Even as Sony fans have been waiting for more information on the Japanese tech titan's upcoming flagship device, the Xperia Z5, an unfamiliar device dubbed as the "Sony Xperia Z5+" is reportedly creating waves on the Internet.
IB Times reports that recently Mobi Picker picked up a tip from LeaksFly, which claimed that Sony is working on a premium smartphone called the Xperia Z5+. According to LeaksFly, the purported device will sport a huge 5.7-inch display, rendering a Quad HD screen resolution of 1,440 x 2,560 pixels. In fact, this display configuration of the handset translates to a pixel density of 515 ppi, reports Phone Arena.
In addition, the upcoming device is expected to be powered by Qualcomm's forthcoming Snapdragon 820 processor. Therefore, the Xperia Z6+ will not be released in 2015, as the Qualcomm S820 chipset will only available towards the end of this year. According to the leak, the release date of the Xperia Z5+ is set for March 2016.
Speculations are rife that the Sony Xperia Z5+ will be backed by 4 GB of RAM, ensuring an impressive performance. While the device will have a 32 GB of built-in storage, it is expected to boast the same 20.7-megapixel rear-facing camera present in the Xperia Z3 series of phones. In addition, the handset will also have an 8-megapixel front-facing snapper for selfies and video chats. This apart, the purported Xperia Z5+ will also sport a fingerprint scanner in its home button. Phone Arena reports that similar to other sophisticated devices from Sony devices, the upcoming handset will also be IP-certified for dust- as well as water-proofing.
Phone Arena further states that the rumors began with the high-end Sony Xperia S60 and Xperia S70, which are expected to feature 32 GB of internal storage capacity. These handsets are expected to be launched in August.
In addition, a User Agent Profile also showed the existence of the Sony Xperia Z5 as well as the mini version Xperia Z5 Compact, which are both expected to be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 chipset. Furthermore, the Xperia Z5 will sport a 1080p screen resolution, while the Xperia Z5 Compact will pack a 720p resolution.
The Xperia Z5 is set for release in the last quarter of 2015, together with the compact version. Meanwhile Sony is yet to confirm the specifications of upcoming handsets in the Xperia Z5 series.
