Sony Xperia Z4 Specs Rumors: Upcoming Flagship Device Listed on Benchmarking Website?
Sony Xperia Z4, the upcoming flagship device of the Japanese tech giant, was allegedly spotted on the GFX Benchmarking site, leading to a reveal of some key specifications.
According to a report by the IB Times, while browsing through the GFX Benchmarking site, a popular benchmarking website, Netherland-based technology blog Mobifo came across a Sony device code named E6553, which is believed to be the soon-to-be released flagship smartphone Xperia Z4.
Basic information regarding the device shows that the Xperia Z4 will run Android 5.0.2 Lollipop OS and will be powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon 810 Octa-core CPU. It will come with Adreno 430 graphics engine, 3GB RAM in addition to a 32GB inbuilt memory.
In terms of photography, the Xperia Z4 is expected to be equipped with a 20.7-megapixel primary rear camera, similar to its predecessor the Xperia Z3. However, the company has reportedly bumped the front-facing camera to 5.0-megapixels along with full HD video recording ability. Compared to this, the Xperia Z3 features a 2.2-megapixel front-facing snapper.
In fact, the features spotted in the GFX benchmarking site are corresponding to the earlier reports. However, there is some difference regarding reports about the smartphone's display specifications. There were speculations that like rivals Galaxy S6 (& S6 Edge) and soon-to-be released LG G4, the Sony Xperia Z4 would also come with QHD (2560x1440p) display. However, the GFX site reveals that Sony's upcoming flagship smartphone will have full HD display.
Fans should not be disappointed even if Sony decides to go with full HD screen, because QHD display is basically a marketing gimmick and not much of a value-added feature. Nearly all research studies have shown that the human eye actually fails to differentiate the variation in display resolution beyond HD (1280x720p).
What is more, this high-resolution QHD screen will consume additional power, thereby draining the phone's battery faster.
All said and done, as of now, nothing is finalized. All these speculations notwithstanding, Sony continues to maintain their stoic silence.
