Sony Xperia Z4 Specs Rumors: New Tablet Details Leaked onto Lounge App
No one really expected Sony to release a new tablet at this year's Mobile World Congress, but the company experienced a leak that could very well prove otherwise.
According to CNET, Sony's Xperia Lounge app had leaked a post of the unannounced Xperia Z4 tablet on Wednesday. The post was quickly pulled down, but not before people from Xperia Blog took a couple of screen shots.
The image description was vague on the Xperia Z4 tablet details, merely stating that it would have "the latest ultra-fast processor" and "industry leading battery performance." The post also said that the tablet would have a 2K, or 2048 x 1536 pixels, resolution display.
Sony is known for releasing their products every six months or so. Last year, Sony introduced the Xperia Z2, a tablet that had a 10-inch display. Later, they officially brought out the Xperia Z3 Compact, which had a smaller screen and better specs. From the looks of the leaked post, the newest tablet will be on the larger size, probably with a 10-inch display.
The leaked image also provided a release date for the new addition to Sony's Xperia tablet family. According the image, the new tablet is set to release on March 3 of this year. With the Mobile World Congress just around the corner, many sources speculate that the tablet will be officially launched, if not announced, on the event.
According to Xperia Blog, the ones who took screenshots of the leaked image said that the new tablet would also feature the Android 5.0 Lollipop out of the box, meaning it already comes with the newest Android update installed.
Official news of the tablet will most likely be announced at the Mobile World Congress, which starts on March 1.
