Sony Xperia Z4 News, Rumors: Sony Will Not Unveil Latest Flagship Smartphone at MWC 2015?

If the latest rumors are to be believed, Sony is unlikely going to unveil its upcoming flagship smartphone Xperia Z4 at the Mobile World Congress 2015 in Barcelona, Spain, next month. In fact, the Japanese tech manufacturer is also not planning to hold a press conference at the upcoming trade show.

According to Christian Today, unlike previous years, this time Sony will not hold its usual keynote at the Mobile World Congress scheduled for March 2 to 5. Instead, according to Xperia Blog, the Japanese OEM manufacturer will be participating, but will keep a low profile by simply opening a booth in the venue.

The blog, dedicated to Sony, further stated that the company will unveil its latest news at the MWC 2015. While the blog did not specify if Sony will unveil the Xperia Z4, many believe that as the company will not make any major announcements at the event, it suggests that the Sony Xperia Z4 will not be showcased during the exhibit.

Rumors in the past as well as earlier releases implied that Sony will be launching the Xperia Z4 at the MWC, as the tech firm is known to update its Xperia Z line of smartphone once in six months. Latest reports suggest that Sony will now be launching its latest flagship smartphone some time in the ensuing summer with a view to allow more time for the Sony Xperia Z3 to make the most of its sales and profits.

Some rumors also hint that Sony is contemplating to sell its mobile division and it is likely that the company is taking its time to create the next smartphone, concentrating on the quality of the device, instead of just releasing a smartphone with minor upgrades.

According to some reports, the Sony Xperia Z4 is likely to feature either a quad HD (2560 x 1440 pixels) or a full HD (1920 x 1080 pixels) resolution. The hardware of the device is rumored to include Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 SoC, Adreno 420 and 4 GB of RAM. It will run with the latest Android 5.0 Lollipop OS and boast a 24-megapixel rear camera with dual LED flash and 12-megapixel front-facing camera.

In addition, it is also expected to incorporate the unique features of the Xperia Z line such as PlayStation Remote Play and IP68 certification for water and dust resistance.
