Sony Xperia Z4 Rumors: Device Certified by the FCC, Leaked Documents Hint at Dual SIM Support?

Word has come around that the Sony Xperia Z4 has finally been certified by the United States' Federal Communications Commission or FCC.

Reports have it that an unknown Sony smartphone was registered to the agency, bearing very little information and identification. All that was known at the time was that the device supported LTE bands 2, 5 and 7, with no other details made available.

FCC documents that were recently leaked did reveal more details about the handset, though Sony and FCC have yet to confirm it,.

Those from Xperia Blog spotted an FCC listing that appeared a few days ago which may be for the mysterious Sony Xperia Z4. The FCC ID Label for the model PY7-PM0851 showed that it will come with dual SIM support, which is a feature similar to the Sony Xperia Z3 Dual.

It followed a previous FCC listing that mentioned the model PY7-PM0851 and another, the PM-0850-BV. The declaration letter stated that both models will have similar specs, except for the fact that the PY7-PM0851 will have two M-card sockets.

Sony is keeping silent though, but the recent certification in the U.S. does follow that from the Japanese Communication Ministry. There's a likely chance that the device and official details about it will be unveiled soon, especially as it was a no-show at the recent CES. It's likely that it will end up being introduced at the upcoming MWC in Barcelona, Spain in March.

Sony Xperia Z4 is said to come in two variations. One model will sport a 5.2-inch screen with 1440x2560 resolution, while the other will come with a 5.2-inch screen with 1080x1920 resolution, according to Phone Arena. Both models will feature 64-bit octacore Snapdragon 810 processors, 4GB of RAM, a 5MP front camera, a 20.7MP rear camera with a 3400 mAh battery and the Android 5.0 OS.
