Sony Xperia M5 Specs and Release Date News: New Video Reveals Device’s Water, Dust Resistant Capabilities [VIDEO]
While it has already been reported that Sony Corporation is reportedly gearing up to launch a new selfie-focused smartphone, the Xperia C5 Ultra, this month, a recent report in The Verge claimed that the Japanese tech giant is also planning to release another selfie smartphone, the Xperia M5, in August.
According to Christian Today, Sony unveiled a new video promo for the Xperia M5 recently, offering a peek into the new smartphone's water and dust proof features. The Xperia M5 will be the successor to the recently released Sony Xperia M4 Aqua smartphone.
As far as the specs are concerned, the Sony Xperia M5 will come with a 5-inch display screen with a 1080 x 1920 pixel (full HD) resolution. Similar to the C5 Ultra, the device will run on the new Android 5.0 version Lollipop operating system and will support 4G connectivity.
According to a report in the Next Web, the Xperia M5 will come with a very powerful 21.5-megapixel primary rear camera alongside a 13-megapixel front-facing camera. Under the hood, the Xperia M5 will house a 64-bit 2.0 GHz processor, 3GB RAM, and a maximum of 16 GB internal memory storage.
Compared to the Xperia M5, the upcoming Xperia C5 Ultra will sport a larger 6-inch display screen rendering a 1080 x 1920 resolution and two 13-megapixel cameras on both sides. This phone will be a successor to Sony Xperia C4, and it is expected to run on the new Android 5.0 OS too. However, the device will only pack 2 GB RAM, but have the same 16 GB built-in memory capacity.
The Verge further states that both the Xperia C5 Ultra and M5 handsets will run on batteries that can last up to two days with no charging. As far as the price is concerned, Sony is yet to make any announcement regarding these upcoming Xperia selfie smartphones. Sony has confirmed that these devices will be available in selected countries.
