Sony Xperia M5 and C5 Ultra Image Leak News: Specifications, Features and Prices Revealed

Just hours ahead of the release of Sony Xperia M5 and Xperia C5 Ultra, which are set for release on Monday, Aug. 3, snapshots and features of the upcoming devices, have been leaked online.

IB Times reports that Russian blog Hi-Tech Mail recently posted a multitude of images of the purported Sony devices, revealing their key specifications. As the news about the leak spread in the media, the website removed page, possibly fearing legal action from Sony. However, by then, several technology sites already managed to take screen shots of the smartphones.

Xperia Blog states that the leaked photos show the 6.0-inch full HD Xperia C5 Ultra to be a slim device having an aluminum chassis around the edges gives it a premium feel. The device also boasts a glossy cover on its rear-side. In terms of software, the Xperia C5 Ultra is reported to pack a 1.7GHz MediaTek Octa-core processor, 2 GB RAM ,16 GB internal storage, a 2,930 mAh battery unit and a 13-megapixel primary camera with LED flash on front as well as back.

Then again, the 5.0-inch Sony Xperia M5 appears to be compact and its design language is somewhat similar to Sony's current flagship smartphone Xperia Z3+. The device has four strange metallic corner caps around the edges. However, the similarity between the Xperia Z3+ and the Xperia M5 ends there. Under the hood, the specifications are entirely different.

It is expected that the Xperia M5 will be powered by 2.0GHz MediaTek Helio, come with 3 GB RAM, 16 GB memory (expandable), a 2,600 mAh battery unit, which can keep the phone running for almost two days.

The primary rear camera of the Xperia M5 is said to be its USP. The 20.5-megapixel Exmore RS camera boasts the latest  proprietary Sony IMX230 CMOS sensor, superior autofocus, f/2.2 aperture, fast autofocus (0.2 seconds), 5x zoom without any perceptible loss in quality in addition to 4K video recording capability. On the front, the device is likely to come packed with a 13-megapixel snapper.

After their unveiling, both Xperia M5 and Xperia C5 Ultra will first hit stores in Russia .The Xperia M5 is likely to cost anywhere between 21,000-22000 roubles ($340 - $356), while the Xperia C5 Ultra is expected to be priced around 24,000-25,000 roubles ($389 - $405).

However, Sony is yet to release the specs of these devices officially and, hence, nothing is set in stone.
