‘Sons of Anarchy’ Latest News: FX Crime Drama TV Series to Get a Spin-Off with 'The Mayans'
Kurt Sutter, the creator of 'Sons of Anarchy,' has already made a name for himself in the cable network television to such an extent that when he pitches an idea for a show in his home network FX, it immediately gets hastened to the top. Now this is about to take place with a new 'Sons of Anarchy' spin-off series being rumored to come to FX sometime in the future.
Citing a report in The Hollywood Reporter, Latin Post states that while Stutter's latest television series 'The Bastard Executioner' was run hastily through the upper rank of the network, currently the hit show creator is said to be in talks to create as well as feature the purported 'Sons of Anarchy' spin-off for FX, where he has been since their original hit show, 'The Shield.'
Although the spin-off series is yet to be confirmed officially and both Stutter and FX have kept most of the details a top-secret, will especially feature the Mexican American biker gang "The Mayans." However, no detail regarding this has been disclosed yet.
Fans of the crime drama television series are already aware that the Mayans and the Sons had parted on a good note, suggesting that they were not combating each other as they had been is several previous seasons. Now that Jax Teller is dead, it is very likely that the Mayans may have risen to acquire more power in northern California.
According to rumors, some of the Sons may cameo in the new series. However, this has not been confirmed yet.
Meanwhile, Sutter is currently negotiating for this project and the confirmations will be available only when he and FX decide on the final details.
At present, Stutter is organizing the launch of 'The Bastard Executioner,' which will debut on the FX network this fall. Sutter's hit writing credits include 'Sons of Anarchy,' 'The Bastard Executioner' and 'The Shield' - a lead by creator Shawn Ryan. In addition, Sutter penned the screenplay for the Jake Gyllenhaal film 'Southpaw.'
