'Sonic Boom: Fire & Ice' News & Update: Game Set For September 27 Release Date

New details on the release and gameplay of Sega and Sanzaru's "Sonic Boom: Fire & Ice" have surfaced. As per reports, the game is set to be released this month.

"Sonic Boom: Fire & Ice" is set to come out on Sept. 27, Tweak Town has learned. Set in the "Sonic Boom" universe, the game follows Dr. Eggman's discovery of the supercharged element called ragnium on the Ragna Rock Island. Such breakthrough leads him to commence a new project that further results to conflicts, which prompt Sonic and his friends to arise and rescue the scientist from his invention.

In the game, players can select his character among Sonic, Amy, Tails, Knuckles, or Sticks. Along with the characters' features, such as speed, hammer, flight, strength, and Boomerang, the game also uses fire and ice, which can be used to burn puzzles and obstacles, as well as freeze the enemies that block the way.

Along with the main story quests, players can also engage with their co-players in a two-player bot racing and unlock six new tracks in the game. Such activities also include artifact collection throughout the "Sonic Boom" world.

The file size for "Sonic Boom: Fire & Ice" is larger when compared to other games in the Nintendo 3DS. According to My Nintendo News, the Nintendo eShop sees the game with 12,333 blocks, which is equivalent to 1,541 MB. On the other hand, the forthcoming "Ace Attorney: Spirit of Justice" consumes 6,794 blocks, which is equal to 849.25 MB.

Overall, "Sonic Boom: Fire & Ice" is set to be released for the Nintendo 3DS on Sept. 27.
