'Sonic Boom: Fire And Ice' Review News: Game Is Better Than ‘Shattered Crystal’

Sega's "Sonic Boom: Fire & Ice" has hit the market and as per reviews, it is better than its predecessors.

According to Kotaku, "Fire & Ice" is better than "Sonic Boom: Shattered Crystal." As per the publication, the predecessor was "slow-paced" and felt like a "quick and dirty" licensed cartoon tie-in. This game speed reportedly lost the "essence" of "Sonic the Hedgehog."

As per the publication, players can hit a dash pad or the jump button, which launches the game characters in a superspeed mode. This allows them to tear through loops and move between background and foreground. The aforementioned are automated and they do not require any input from the player, but to hut every jump and swing that comes on their way.

"Fire & Ice" also focus on Sonic. According to Metro, Sonic is always the focus of the game and it is manifested in the game. As per the publication, such serves as a proof that the developers listen to their game's players. This is in addition to a suitable platform, which allows players to utlize the available buttons for moves like grappling hook, block-bash, and dash attack.

Overall, "Fire & Ice" follows Sonic and his friends Knuckles, Tails, Sticks, and Amy, as they engage with Eggman's plot, which is to use a new element that allows the heroes to have the properties of fire and ice.

Published by Sega, "Sonic Boom: Fire & Ice" was released for Nintendo 3DS on Sept. 27.
