The third season of "Sleepy Hollow" is currently on a halt with its mid-season break. According to some reports, there's going to be a new character that will be introduced in the show. Also, we might see the return of Benjamin Franklin.

The Jersey Devil will be coming to mix things up. The question now is, how will the creators introduce him to the show? Also, what's going to be his backstory?

According to TV Line, the fans should expect Dr. Japeth Leeds, played by Charles Aitken. He is the arch rival of Benjamin Franklin ever since their younger days. Both are great at alchemy but Benjamin will be far more superior compared to Leeds.

Dr. Japeth Leeds' obsession will make him push himself and make him do some expirements that he wouldn't be able to handle. A failed experiment will turn him into the Jersey Devil.

According to Christian Today, there might be a chance that we see the return of Benjamin Franklin if ever the show features Leeds in his normal human look.

With regards to the fate of Abbie Mills, played by Nicole Beharie, we would have to wait until the continuation of the season to find out our answers. Showrunner Clifton Campbell didn't even said a single give away about her on one of his interviews. Instead, here's what Campbell said:

"The astute viewer will notice that there have been things about the tree, the lair and the story we've been telling in the first half [of the season] that will suggest what fate Abbie may have met," he said via Christian Today. "It's going to be very daunting and very illuminating when we all realize what happened to her."
