'Sleepy Hollow' Season 3 Cast News, Rumors: Orlando Jones Will Not Return to Series

Orlando Jones, who plays Frank Irving, Abbie's former captain on Sleepy Hollow, will not be returning to the show for a third season. The news comes from a report made by Variety magazine.

The series is in the middle of a transition at the time of Jones' departure. The series showrunner, Mark Goffman stepped down from his position before the renewal of the show for a third season was announced.

In addition to this, two of the show's regular characters, Katrina Cran played by Katia Winter, and Henry Parrish, played by John Noble, were killed at the end of season 2.

These huge deaths served as a sign that Sleepy Hollow would be changing things around after the second season's rocky reception. Some of the biggest shortcomings of the season were shown in the arc of Jones' character.

Frank Irving did not appear much in the show before he died heroically in the midseason finale, after which it was discovered that he did not actually die.

When he returned, it was revealed that his sown now belonged to the Horseman of War. He did regain possession of his soul, but not before causing chaos.

In season 3, the plan was to get back to the basic line of events in the show. Without Irving in the show anymore, he will likely be reuniting with his family.

If he is leaving the show, then his family will likely be leaving too, so two supporting characters, Cynthia, and Macey, will be leaving the show.

Perhaps viewers will see more of Sheriff Reyes in order to fill the role that Irving will leave wide open.
