Sims 4 vs Sims 3 Comparison, New Features: Review of What Features Have Been Added, Changed, Removed - Pros & Cons [VIDEO]
EA's newest addition to the 'Sims' franchise released on September 2, and fans of the series are wondering if getting the new title is worth it. Since the 'Sims 4' launch, many players and experts have reviewed the game and weighed out the good and the bad.
Considering what EA has improved upon since the previous installment, 'Sims 3', is a good way to figure out if getting a copy of 'Sims 4' is worth the money.
One of the major differences in 'Sims 4' is that the world has been broken up into different zones. This means that travel time has been severely reduced, instead of watching your Sim drive around all over town in a taxi, the game focuses on the actual gameplay.
However, there's a major downside to this, loading times are everywhere. Even if you tell your Sim to cross the street, there's going to be a loading time. While there isn't much exploration to do in the game, many players feel this is a major downside.
It's important to note that the speed at which the game loads depends on the player's computer, so gamers should consider their rigs before downloading 'Sims 4' off EA's Origin client.
Another sour point to note, is that Maxis (the developer) has reintroduced the "Warp Work" aspect that was seen in the early installments of the franchise. Basically, once your Sim goes off to work, he or she only comes back after the work day is over.
On the plus side, the character creation, Create-A-Sim, is excellent this time around. This is sure to excite many players of the series because this is one of the more popular features of the simulation game. This goes hand in hand with the new Build Mode, as it has also been improved.
Last but not least, a major issue with the game: No toddlers, pets, schools, or pools. While many gamers might not be phased by this, a lot realize that without theses aspects, there's not much to do in 'Sims 4'
Overall, the new addition to the 'Sims' franchise has it's up and downs, and it's ultimately up to the gamer whether he or she wants a copy. Again, it's important to remember that loading times have been added, so it would be wise to consider computer specs before making a purchase.
An extensive comparison video had been put together highlighting other things that have changed from the previous installment, 'Sims 3'. Check out the 'Sims 4 vs Sims 3 - First Impression' video below:
