'Sims 4' New DLC News: Developer Maxis Releases New Outdoor Retreat Downloadable Content
EA has announced the availability of a new DLC pack for 'The Sims 4'. It will be an Outdoor Retreat DLC that will expand players' Sims universe to a new vacation spot, Granite Falls. The new location hopes to put Sims right at home with nature and the great outdoors.
"The Sims 4 Outdoor Retreat is a major new piece of content that allows players to take their Sims on a trip to virtual vacation destination Granite Falls. There, players can explore the deep woods, pitch a tent, enjoy outdoor activities such as stargazing or hiking, build a campfire and roast marshmallows, or even use the new Herbalism skill to create exotic remedies," writes Gamespot.
The game pack will also feature a bear costume, enabling players to scare other Sims that inhabit Granite Falls.
In an interview with Kotaku, EA went more into depth with what Sim players can expect with Granite Falls:
"Granite Falls is a brand new destination in The Sims 4. When you arrive you'll be in a Campground neighborhood where your Sims can set-up camp among the trees or rent a fully furnished cabin. Your Sims will only have what they bring with them - any additional supplies they'll need they'll have to purchase at the Ranger Station - but players may edit the Campground lots through Manage Worlds and build whatever they like on them."
The DLC is being pitched as a "game pack" instead of the classical "stuff pack" or "expansion pack," as the gaming company believes it is somewhere in between this time around.
The add on will be priced at $20, and is only available for play by players who already have acquired the 'Sims 4'.
Along with this piece of news, Maxis has announced the popular 'Sims 4' to also be released for Macs.
"Regarding the Sims 4's Mac news, Maxis confirmed the game will launch for in February, with a specific release date scheduled to be announced later. Everyone who already bought The Sims 4 on Windows will get the Mac version free," writes Gamespot.
With the new year kicking off, a whole slew of DLC's should be released for the game's newest title.
