‘Silent Hills’ Release Dates News: Game Back on track, Rumors of Kojima and Konami Split are Cleared
The upcoming game 'Silent Hills' starring a CG version of Norman Reedus from 'The Walking Dead' is back on track, according to KPOPStarz. Gamers can expect that the game will be available in 2016 for PS4.
In the previous month, concerned fans had flooded comment boxes of tech and gaming websites due to the suspected Kojima and Konami split cancelling the production to the upcoming horror and survival game 'Silent Hills' for PS4. It had seemed that Hideo Kojima's name has been removed on the game's website among other games which he had designed including the upcoming Metal Gear Solid V: Phantom Pain.
"Konami did not allow Kojima to use the Fox Engine to make the 'Silent Hills' game and Konami has since put the game on ice," according to forumer Cyberland. Other than that, rumors sprung that Kojima and other employees were given restrictive access to company emails, phone calls and Internet connection.
To reassure 'Silent Hills' fans that nothing major is going on, Konami published a brief statement regarding the recent changes with what to be the disappearance of Hideo Kojima's tagline on many of his creations. The statement was seen on Playstation Lifestyle.
"Konami has switched from a studio-based to a headquarters-based organization, so [Kojima Productions] wouldn't be listed as a studio anymore," Konami announces, "At this time, there are no additional updates to share."
After a series of questions regarding the fate of 'Silent Hills', the game publisher did not confirm alleged cancellation but they had mentioned that there are no announcements for the game at the moment.
The 'Silent Hills' hype had started to surface in 2014 when Konami released a "playable teaser," it was largely interactive. It was reported that Kojima had worked with Guillermo Del Toro (The Hobbit: The Battle of the Fiver Armies) to direct the game, according to CrossMap.
