'Silent Hills' Release Date News, Rumors: P.T. Demo Terrifies Players, Game to Launch Sometime in 2016?
Hideo Kojima's next project within the horror franchise, 'Silent Hill', has fans clamoring for more after the success of the demo for the PS4.
Besides Kojima's name being attached to the popular gaming franchise, big name director in horror, Guillermo Del Toro will also be at the helm.
"Instead of just simply announcing to the world that they are making a new Silent Hill game, series creator Hideo Kojima and legendary director Guillermo del Toro instead released a playable demo for the PlayStation 4 entitled P.T., using the name of a non-existent 7780s Studio," writes Tech Times.
The demo takes players on on almost infinite loop through a seemingly abandoned house, but on top of the eeriness of the area, the building suspense becomes more and more unbearable as players witness the terrifying happenings. The demo also plays out in first-person.
"While the reveal about Silent Hills is the most important aspect of the demo, players were treated to a game that is both fascinating and terrifying. The game's character wakes up in a room and goes through an endless loop of walking through a hallway and descending into the cellar, then waking up in the first room again. To progress, players had to look for or create the right trigger, which would lead to another go at the loop but with some things different," writes Tech Times.
For players brave enough to finish the demo, a pleasant cameo makes an appearance with actor Norman Reedus, most known for his popular portrayal as Daryl in the post-apocalyptic show, 'The Walking Dead'.
There hasn't been a confirmation on the release date of 'Silent Hills' but Kojima has stated that it "will not be out more than likely until 2016".
