'Silent Hills' Canceled News, Rumors 2015: Project Officially Disbanded According to Guillermo Del Toro

Some very disappointing news regarding the 'Silent Hills' project that director Guillermo Del Toro and Hideo Kojima were working on was announced over the weekend.

It first began with the sudden deletion of the smash hit demo on the PS store. With the alarming discovery, Del Toro himself made the solemn confirmation at the San Francisco International Film Festival stating, "It's not gonna happen and that breaks my greasy heart."

The quote reached fans through social media before Konami made its official statement to Kotaku. While the specific reasons as to why they decided to abandon the project was not revealed, its suspected to be something regarding Kojima's exiting the company. The statement followed:

"Konami is committed to new Silent Hill titles, however the embryonic 'Silent Hills' project developed with Guillermo del Toro and featuring the likeness of Norman Reedus will not be continued.

In terms of Kojima and Del Toro being involved, discussions on future Silent Hill projects are currently underway, and please stay tuned for further announcements."

While Konami has confirmed the continuation of the franchise, fans were very much ready for the next entry to be helmed by these talented minds. It appears that this unfortunately won't ever happen.
