Sia New Song 2015 'Elastic Heart' Video News: Shia LaBeouf and Reality Star Maddie Ziegler Appear in Controversial Video
Talented pop star Sia released a controversial music video for her single 'Elastic Heart' on Wednesday, which showcases Hollywood star Shia LaBeouf and 'Dance Moms' star, Maddie Ziegler.
The video features them both trapped in a mousetrap-like cage and interpretively dancing out a fight scene. Both of them are covered in dirt and illustrate a scene in which they are very wary of each other.
The unexpected part of it all wasn't the fact that LaBeouf was actually keeping up with the 12-year old dance phenomenon, but that fact that they are both clad in strangely dirty skin-colored attire.
Evidently, their clothes, or lack thereof, has sparked controversy about what's actually being said by the music video. A report by Daily Beast shines light on the topic, saying, "Twitter trolls [claim] it promotes 'pedophilia' and one unhinged stage parent from the reality show Dance Moms, where Ziegler cut her teeth, [accuses] it of being 'vile' and near pedophilia."
On a side note, as per the actor's demeanor, it isn't uncommon to witness Labeouf doing something out of the ordinary. This video was perhaps a testament to that. Up until this video there was no real evidence that the actor could or if he was even interested in dance.
In any case, the singer seemed to appreciate his performance, as she tweeted, "I love you @Shia" earlier this week.
Beyond that, the young dancing star Maddie Ziegler has become quite the household name ever since Sia featured her in her previous video, "Chandelier." Sia has humbly stated she's a fan, and invited her to star in her most recent one.
Sia has also expressed her excitement for the two of them to perform together on Saturday Night Live on January 17th. The singer tweeted, "Yes miss ?@maddieziegler will be one of my co-performers on Saturday Night Live ?#SNL SQUEEEEEEEEE!" on Tuesday.
In the end, while many fans of Sia's music are happy with the new music video, some critics are wary about what it suggests.
