'Sherlock' Season 4 Release Date, News, Spoilers: Moriarty Going To Return As Zombie?

It's still a long way to go before "Sherlock" season 4 premieres, but speculations about the series continue to make the rounds online.

Based on reports, "Sherlock" season 4 is going to provide answers to viewers' questions regarding the season 3 finale and its Christmas special, titled "The Abominable Bride."

One question is if Andrew Scott is going to return in the next installment after his character was killed off in the previous season. Fans speculate that the actor will reprise his role as Moriarty, although that still remains to be seen. According to spoilers, his character may rise from the dead and still appear in season 4 as a zombie.

One report says that a virus in the data may allow for Moriarty's resurrection, but another source says that Moriarty is dead for good.

Sherlock mentions, "Of course he is dead, he blew his own brains out, no one survives that. More importantly, I know what he's going to do next."

Aside from Moriarty's return, fans are also eager to know if Mary Watson's character is going to die in the upcoming season. Since she was introduced in the previous seasons, her death has always been the talk of the town. In fact, John and Mary's journey to parenthood seems to be the focus of season 4's official synopsis.

However, the statements of Steven Moffat regarding the upcoming season make many fans think that Mary is actually ill-omened.

"John's got a wife and Sherlock likes her and isn't it adorable, and then it all goes to hell. Remember where we left them," he said.

"Sherlock" season 4 premieres in December on BBC.
