'Sharknado 3' Release Date, Spoilers: Third Franchise Installment Gets Official Title

The third installment from the Sharknado cult films will swim into the small screen soon. Syfy and The Asylum announced this week that the outrageous horror series will air on Wednesday, July 22, 2015 at 9/8c. The official title has been released as well, Sharknado 3: Oh Hell No!

The statement said that the network was pleased to reveal that after the U.S. premiere, the film will be available on an international level, making it watchable in 86 countries.

Sharknado 3: Oh Hell No! will take place in Washington D.C. before making its way along the Eastern Seaboard to Florida. According to Blastr, the second Sharknado film, Sharknado 2: the Second One, became the most-watched original movie in Syfy's history.

Senior Vice President, Programming Strategy for Syfy Chris Regina said, "We wanted this third title to go boldly where no shark movie has ever gone before. Sharknado 3: Oh Hell No! embraces the larger-than-life irreverence that has made these movies so popular and entertaining."

David Michael Latt of The Asylum added, "The sharks and tornadoes get all the glory, but we would like to thank our long-time marketing guru Mike DiGrazia who first suggested 'Oh hell no!' A dedicated fan of the genre, Mike created the tag lines for 1 and 2 -- 'Enough Said!' and 'Shark Happens' -- as well as the Sharknado posters, including the original, which was a viral sensation on its own."

The third film stars Ian Ziering as Fin, Tara Reid as April, Cassie Scerbo as Nova, David Hasselhoff as Fin's father and Bo Derek as April's mother. Like the two films in the past, Sharknado 3: Oh Hell No! will have a number of cameos including Mark Cuban as the president and Ann Coulter as the vice president.
