'Sharknado 3' New Cast News: 'Baywatch' Legend David Hasselhoff Joins Third Franchise Film
The cast of the newest installment in the Sharknado series has been an exciting one as seemingly random, yet fitting roles have been announced over the course of the past few weeks. On Tuesday, another cast member was announced, David Hasselhoff.
Also appearing in the film will be Bo Derek, a swimsuit model, who will play April's mother and is named May. Ian Fin is played by Ian Ziering and April is played by Tara Reid.
According to Variety, other notable stars are Mark Cuban from "Shark Tank" and Ann Coulter as President and Vice President of the United States. Other roles are Jerry Springer as Mr. White, a manic tourist, *NSYNC singer Chris Kirkpatrick as a pool lifeguard and WWE star Chris Jericho as a roller coaster ride operator.
Sharknado 3Â follows stars Ian and April as the sharks have now made their way to wreak havoc from Washington D.C. clear down the Eastern seaboard, ending in Florida. The first film was set in Los Angeles and the second one in New York City. The films have developed a surprising fan base since the first film was aired on Syfy in 2013.
The Sharknado satirical films are about freak hurricanes that destroy some of the United States' popular cities leaving the cities engulfed in water. The hurricanes also bring with them sharks that terrorizes the citizens. Heroes like Ian and April rise to the challenge and take on the sharks in order to restore balance to the cities.
The third Sharknado film will premiere on Syfy in July, Anthony C. Ferrante will, once again, direct from an original screenplay by Thunder Levin.
