'Sharknado 3' Release Date, Cast News: Mark Cuban and Ann Coulter Join Cast
The third installment of SyFy's Sharknado TV movies is moving along smoothly as more cast members were announced Monday, March 2. Mark Cuban and Ann Coulter will play President and Vice President of the United States in the new wacky, out-there disaster film.
Mark Cuban in most known for his role as himself on "Shark Tank." He is also an entrepreneur and owner of the Dallas Mavericks. Ann Coulter is a conservative commentator and author of several political non-fiction novels.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Cuban and Coulter join guest stars and cameos. Bo Derek will play April's mother May, Jerry Springer as manic tourist Mr. White, 'N Sync's Chris Kirkpatrick as a pool lifeguard and Chris Jericho as roller coaster ride operator Bruce.
Sharknado 3 will bring back stars Tara Reid as April and Ian Ziering as Fin as they follow the bizarre appearance of sharks in popular cities. The first and second films were set in Los Angeles and New York. The third film will take place in Washington, D.C. and down the eastern seaboard into Florida. Anthony C. Ferrante returns to direct from a script by Thunder Levin for production batter the Asylum.
While the first two films do not do so well on various rating systems, the films have produced a cult following, making SyFy announce a new film each year for its followers. In 2013 the first Sharknado won a Young Hollywood Award for Best Internet Sensation and a People's Choice Awards Favorite TV Movie/Miniseries in 2014.
Sharknado 3 is set to air on SyFy in July.
