New spoilers for the popular Showtime network series 'Shameless' have been surfacing online, and fans of the show should really be gearing up for some exciting plot developments.

For those that may not know, 'Shameless' is based on a British series by the same name, but this time around it's set in Chicago.

This show is about a very dysfunctional family, the Gallaghers, who have a very large family and are headed by Frank. He is a very heavy drinker and has six children who is has been trying to raise on his own. The basic premise of the show is that the children learn how to take care of themselves.

Emmy Rossum who is one of the most loved characters on the show, stars as Fiona, the oldest sister of the Gallagher clan. We find the fifth season showing her trying to get her life on the straight and narrow.

She has been fighting addictions and spent some time in jail, but it seems that she wants to try to get herself together. She is waiting tables at Patsy's Pies and she grows very interested in her much older boss who is played by Dermot Mulroney.

We will see Frank recovering from his liver transplant and secretly brewing his own beer in Shelia's basement.

Rossum has said that there will be a lot of love and romance on this season of the show. Frank will fall in love for the first time, real love that is. She said that one of the main characters will also get married.

The fifth season of 'Shameless' will be a great one and it will air on January 11, at 9 pm ET/ PT on Showtime.
