'Shadow Warrior 2' News & Update: New Game Mode Featured, Weapons And Lo Wang Plot

Along with the free challenge mode, new details on Devolver Digital's "Shadow Warrior 2" have surfaced. As per reports, the game is set to have a new game mode, weapons, and plot about Lo Wang.

Game developer Flying Wild Hog is reportedly working on a new update for Devolver Digital's first-person shooting video game, News Everyday has learned. As per the publication, the new update will feature new missions, game mode, weapons, and items. It is added that the game is also set to feature a loot system, weapon balancing, tweaked crafting, and some fixes for some game glitches of smaller scale.

In terms of plot, "Shadow Warrior 2" will center on the "crazy adventures" of previous corporate shogun Lo Wang, as per Worth Playing. According to the publication, after five years, the warrior managed to survive the "corrupt" realm of mercenaries. In this regard, the character must build his own weapons (guns and blades), along with spells he utilized against the evil forces.

As per the publication, Wang also separated himself from his previous traitor leader and the ancient gods in the shadow world. In line with this, it is assumed that the character is set to face an array of challenges as he pursues the destruction of corruption.

Devolver Digital also unveiled information about the game having a free challenge mode. According to the studio, as cited by Rock Paper Shotgun, the game updates would include new missions and an ultra-hard challenge mode, together with new weapons, items, and co-op ninja characters.

"We're adding some new features like insane difficulty tiers, rebalance of some skills and drop system, better crafting and a lot of bug fixes, so it needs to be tested properly," game director Michal Szustak said.

Published by Devolver Digital, "Shadow Warrior 2" is set to be released for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Microsoft Windows, Macintosh, and Linux in 2016.
