Seth MacFarlane News: Director Explains Family Guy's Foreshadowing Clip On Bruce Jenner

It's approximately been two weeks since Olympian Bruce Jenner has come out publicly to the world as Caitlyn Jenner in a Vanity Affair issue. While Jenner's admittance to being a transgender took place in April, there was only one other person that seemed to know of this truth years ago.

With the recent news of Jenner's sex change circulating, a certain clip from Seth MacFarlane's 'Family Guy' show has come to light where the character Stewie states that Jenner is a "an elegant, beautiful Dutch woman." The clip comes from an episode in 2009.

The director hasn't yet been available for comment until a recent conference call for his upcoming film 'Ted 2.' He begins by stating that he's "too savvy to comment on the issues of the media."

He explains:

"Once the outrage industry shuts down, I will be happy to have an adult conversation about all of this stuff anytime anyone wants, but, even though I'm on the side of support, I just don't think there's any way to ... you just got to play it safe because the climate is just too charged. Anything I say can and will be used against me.

"My philosophy is live and let live, and if something makes someone happy, and they're able to do it -- as long as it isn't hurting anybody -- live and let live."

He finishes the call with commenting on the media's response to political correctness in comedy.

"Nobody sets out to -- at least I don't -- nobody sets out to offend or shock for the sake of shocking. You set out to get laughs."
