'Serial' Season 3 News: Podcast Comes Back This Fall, New Episodes in Production
Fans of the "Serial" podcast have a lot of news to follow lately, about the show, especially in regards to new episodes.
Sarah Koenig and her group of journalists, who originally covered the story of Hae Min Lee's murder through their podcast, have not had much to say of late in terms of the most recent development in the Adnan Syed case.
This is the case that has had fans obsessed with the podcast. Recent developments suggest that Syed is closer to getting a fair trial than ever before, and a new podcast, "Undisclosed:
The State v. Adnan Syed," is giving fans an inside look at the legal side of the case.
On Wednesday, Koenig and her team finally shared their thoughts on Syed's current case against the state of Maryland.
Those fans who subscribe to the "Serial" newsletter got an email from Koenig and the team that tells them what exactly they can expect next from the podcast.
"We are hard at work reporting not one, but two distinct new stories," wrote Koenig. "This means we're planning on a third season of 'Serial'. And we hope it means we can reduce the amount of time between the end of Season Two and the beginning of Season Three. As it stands, we intend to launch Season Two this fall and Season Three next spring. Sorry -- we can't tell you details about the new stories yet. What we can say is that they're very different from Season One, but no less interesting to us."
The team is also planning a tour which begins in Virginia on June 6th
