'Selena the One' Project News: Media Company to Produce Digitized Selena Performance
It's been 20 years since Mexican-American singer, Selena passed away, and while her career was cut short of its full potential, a new project seeks to bring her back in a new digitized version.
Acrovirt, LLC is reportedly developing "a new technology that embodies [Selena] digitally," this however is supposedly not a hologram.
"That's an older technology," media representative Abelardo Rodriguez clarifies with EW. "And this is a brand new technology." According to the project's website, this digitized version of Selena "will release new songs and videos, will collaborate with current hit artists, and aims to go on tour in 2018."
Selena's sister, Suzette Quintanilla commented on the idea and how she stands behind it.
"We think it's something amazing," she states, "A lot of the new fans that did not get to experience what Selena was about hopefully will be able to get a sense of her with this new technology that's going to be coming out."
The project named, 'Selena the One,' will launch an Indiegogo campaign next Thursday.
