While Selena Gomez and DJ Zedd have never formally confirmed their relationship, the pair has been rumored to be a couple, and a new report claims that the couple has split.

Over the weekend, pictures of Gomez on vacation with her friends in Mexico surfaced online, but Zedd was nowhere in sight. The two worked together on the hit dance record, "I Want You to Know".

An insider confirmed to Hollywood Life that the two have decided to just be friends. Apparently, they have drifted apart romantically. "Zedd is all about getting his album ready and being out of the magazines and Selena is all about her movies, Mexico and music," states the source.

The source also says that there is a chance that Gomez and the DJ may resume their romantic relationship, but for now the two are only concerned with their friendship.

The fact that the two have not split on a bad note is confirmed by statements made by Zedd, who is 25 years of age, about the singer and actress while the rumors of the break up float around.

In an interview with People magazine, Zedd spoke on what it is like to work with Gomez.

He stated that he enjoyed working with Gomez as opposed to other singers because she takes directions well, which most artists neglect to do.

He also said that sometimes singers feel that he is in their zone and that he does not have the right to be there.

Zedd states that Gomez listened to every piece of advice he gave during their sessions.

He said, "She was great, you know, trying to emulate exactly what I wanted to hear and didn't take anything personally."
