Latest reports suggest that Selena Gomez will be mentoring new singers on the upcoming season of the reality television singing competition series 'The Voice.' The 'Kiss & Tell' singer will be joining Gwen Stefani's team.

Quoting Us Weekly, IB Times reports that a source close to the 24-year-old singer said, "She was surprisingly amazing as a mentor even though she's so young," adding,  She exceeded everyone's expectations."

According to the source, Gomez will be working with new singers during the battle rounds of 'The Voice' in the next season of the show.

'The Voice' will return for its ninth season at 8 p.m. EDT on Sept. 21 on NBC. Other new mentors for 'The Voice' Season 9 include John Fogerty, Brad Paisley and Missy Elliott. While Fogerty will join Adam Levine's team, Paisley will mentor Blake Shelton's team. Singer Elliott will be mentoring Pharrell Williams' team.

According to Us Weekly, Fogerty was selected by Levine following his performance on 'The Voice' finale. The source further revealed, "Brad was a good friend to Blake, and it was great for Blake to have him there - especially considering everything Blake is going through."

In fact, Gomez and the other new mentors will be following the footsteps of singers like Lionel Richie, Ellie Goulding, Stevie Nicks, Alicia Keys, Gavin Rossdale and Meghan Trainor.

In the meantime, Gomez is also preoccupied with her upcoming album, "Revival," which is set for release on Oct. 9. According to the Texas-born singer and actress, her upcoming album will have songs that have been inspired by her life.

Appearing in 'On Air with Ryan Seacrest,' Gomez said now she is more confident as a woman and comfortable with her sensuality.

Gomez said, "I'm very confident in this record and you can hear it," she told Seacrest. "But I'm vulnerable, I'm real, and I think it just shows a different side of me, and I'm really excited, and I feel like a huge weight has been lifted off my shoulders."
