Selena Gomez New Album News, Rumors: Singer Hints at Dark Tones in Upcoming Musical Collection

Since Selena Gomez's hit singles "The Heart Wants What It Wants" and "I Want You to Know," fans have been dying for more of her music.

While talking with Women's Wear Daily at the Louis Vuitton Fall 2015 Fashion Show in Pairs on March 11, Gomez said, "I haven't released any music in two years. So it's really going to be kind of showing my journey in the past two years, and there's a little darkness in it."

A lot of people are not surprised that her music has a high chance of being darker than her previous albums. She has a lot of material from her experiences these past two years to sing about.

Gomez's explosive relationship with ex-boyfriend Justin Bieber will most likely be an inspiration for at least one of her new songs. The couple was in an on-again-off-again relationship for a while. Gomez had told countless sources that for the longest time, she couldn't stay away from him, despite their problems.

According to MTV, the singer secretly spend two weeks in a rehab facility back in 2014 not for substance abuse, but to learn more about herself and to be the "best person I can be." Perhaps her self-awareness could be source material for an upcoming song.

A lot of young stars deal with pressure from coming into the spotlight at such tender ages. Gomez said, "It just causes a lot of anxiety. There were a few months where I was a little depressed, where I wouldn't leave as much. I think I drove myself crazy for a little bit."

Perhaps there will be some light to the "dark" album as Gomez in moving on in her romantic life as she constantly appears with rumored boyfriend and successful singer Zedd, who helped her with her "I Want You to Know" song.

Gomez is currently working on her album; when it will be ready for release, remains unknown.
