Selena Gomez New Music News: Instagram Post about Zedd Collaboration Sparks Hype
An Instagram announcement by Selena Gomez regarding her new collaborative effort with Zedd caused buzz on Feb. 9th when she posted a photo of the pair looking quite cozy together.
In the post, the 22-year-old captioned, "Harry to my Sally #feb22 #IWYTK." Their new joint effort, "I Want You to Know," is set to release on Feb. 22nd and her reference to the 1989 hit romantic comedy starring Meg Ryan and Billy Crystal, about friends that worry sex will ruin their friendship, leave fans wondering if this post means Zedd is, in fact, her new beau.
European born DJ and producer Zedd and Selena have been churning through the rumor mill since they were seen flirting at a Golden Globes party, according to US Weekly.
Since the Golden Globes, the pair has seemed connected through social media updates as well.
The captioned photo added to Selena's Instagram account was later taken down and replaced with a smiley face and the song acronym inspired hashtag, "IWYTK."
The anticipated song was written by Ryan Tedder from One Republic and it was revealed in a quote to Billboard, that the song was something that he too was really excited about, "The new Zedd/Selena record that people have been buzzing about, that's my song... I had this record, and I was either going to finish it myself and cut it on another artist, but I don't know what it was - maybe 'Clarity' was on the radio - and I was like 'Zedd's the guy!' He crushed it. And Selena did a bang-up job. She killed it." Tedder stated.
The One Republic lead has become a name in songwriting as he was nominated for album of the year. He contributed the song "XO" to Beyonce's self-entitled effort.
