The reigning Super Bowl Champions Seahawks (10-4) looks to lengthen their winning streak to five games versus their NFC West opponent Cardinals, after they defeated another divisional rival San Francisco 49ers by a score of 17-7 (last Sunday).
"That's not stuff we talk about. It's so obvious why we don't talk about it," said Seattle head coach Pete Carroll to reporters in reference to needing some help in order to clinch a possible fourth consecutive division crown.
"We've been preparing for championship games all season long and playing like they are, and the more you do that the more comfortable I hope we feel with the big setting that this one brings and all the hype that people are going to put on it. We're not going to play any different."
Seahawks QB Russell Wilson went 12-24 for 168 yards, highlighted by the two-time Pro Bowl superstar throwing two TD passes despite being sacked five times by the 49ers' defense.
"We can only control what we can control and so we're focused on us," said Seahawks wide receiver Doug Baldwin to reporters.
Meanwhile, the Cardinals (11-3) are looking to extend their winning streak to three games after their recent 12-6 victory versus the St. Louis Rams (on December 11), when Arizona defends their home field against the defending NFL Champions at the University of Phoenix Stadium.
"Knowing that we're in [the playoffs], there's some comfort," said Cardinals head coach Bruce Arians to reporters in reference to his team potentially winning home field advantage in the upcoming playoffs.
"But knowing that's at stake, we don't want to travel to play."
