Seattle Seahawks Roster News, Rumors: Marshawn Lynch Offered Contract Extension?

New reports are claiming that the Seattle Seahawks want to keep Marshawn Lynch not only for a year, but possibly for the rest of his career.

Although there are no active negotiations between Lynch and the representatives of Seahawks yet, Lynch's contract runs through 2015.

In the recent season Lynch led with 17 touchdowns and finished fourth in rushing with 1,306 yards. According to NFL Media, the Seahawks believe that Lynch has outplayed his contract, yet some other sources state that his contract runs through 2015.

When General Manager of Seattle Seahawks was asked about the contract with Lynch, "He's under contract next year and he's a warrior,'' Schneider said of Lynch, "He goes out there every weekend and lays it on the line. I think you'd be hard-pressed to find a better running back in the National Football League," according to ESPN.

According to ESPN, Lynch held out for eight days in training camp over his contract. He reported that he was given $1.5 million for 2014, which made his guaranteed compensation of $5 million to rise up to $6.5 million.

In the last week, Lynch was offered a higher amount but his decision remains unknown.

It is yet to be seen what the future holds for Lynch, however, Seattle fans can be happy knowing that proper steps are being taken to keep Lynch tied to Seahawks for rest of his career.
