'Scream' Season 2 Updates: Supporters of Online Petition To Renew Series Reaches 3,000?
Fans of "Scream" hope to get some good news from MTV ahead of the October Halloween special.
The network has yet to make an official announcement about the renewal of the series for another season. However, Netflix is making season 2 available for binge watching soon.
Earlier this week, the subscription streaming service announced that all 12 episodes of the previous season will be available for streaming on September 30, allowing fans to catch up and relive the grisly series ahead of its upcoming two-hour special for the Halloween.
The 10-episode first season of "Scream" premiered on June 30, 2015 and became the most-watched pilot episode of a new series that summer for Millennials. Due to its high ratings, MTV picked up the series for another season a month later. The second season debuted on May 30, 2015 but failed to scare up as many viewers as the first season.
Season 2 came to a close in mid-August and saw the accomplice of Piper put to jail for the recent murders in Lakewood. However, the finale also introduced a new twist that made fans look forward to a new season. While the cliffhanger may be addressed in the upcoming Halloween episode, fans of the series are still hoping for a season 3. In fact, they have already started an online petition to urge Netflix to pick up the series for another season. As of this writing, the petition already has more than 3,000 supporters.
The "Scream" Halloween Special airs in October on MTV.
