It was announced months earlier that the popular 'Scream' franchise was making its way to television in the form of a new MTV series. On that note, a new trailer has finally been released for the upcoming show titled, 'Scream'.

From the trailer, it appears that the show will adopt a lot of the common elements from the popular horror films, as they include a group of unsuspecting teenagers, a murderous stalker, with some slight mystery.

Speculators are still unconvinced with the idea of a "slasher flick-themed" TV show, but time will tell on how it can fair on this network.

Here's the show's full synopsis:

"Everyone has secrets. Everyone tells lies. Everyone is fair game. The new series is based on the Dimension feature of the same name. The series kicks off after a cyber-bullying incident results in a brutal murder, with the shocking violence stirring up memories of a killing spree from the past that has haunted some, intrigued others and maybe just inspired a new killer. It centers on a group of new teens - with two old friends struggling to reconnect at its heart - who become lovers, enemies, suspects, targets and victims of a killer who's out for blood."

The new 'Scream' series premieres on June 30^th.
