Scott Stapp Praises Wife for Being 'A Divine Instrument for God' in His Life; Performs Single 'Dying to Live' at K-LOVE Fan Awards 2014 (VIDEO INTERVIEW)

Scott Stapp and his wife Jaclyn briefly chatted with BreatheCast on the Red Carpet of the K-LOVE Fan Awards 2014 where he touched on becoming a Christian artist and the importance of a supporting wife.

Scott, a Grammy Award winning singer for the multi-platinum band Creed, and his model and philanthropist wife Jaclyn, were at the event for the first time and looking forward to participating in all the night's fesitivities.

"I'm excited about seeing the performances. Now that I've met all the artists and have a personal connection it's going to be exciting to see them out there jamming," he said.

The previous night, Stapp had performed for the songwriters event along with a slew of other entertainers. He performed Creed smash hit "With Arms Wide Open" and his newest single "Dying to Live."

The song became his first official Christian No. 1 single. He said the song takes on a different feel than any of his other successful singles.

"It really symbolizes a new chapter in my life. Coming back to God to just experience his grace and it's real. Initially it was a little overwhelming but it feels good to be right where I know God wants me," Stapp shared.

Stapp battled with addiction and suicide in the public eye. He documented his many struggles with his auto-biography "Sinner's Creed." He credits his coming back to the Lord and reality to his wife Jaclyn.

BreatheCast asked the former Mrs. Florida America what the best advice was for standing by "your husband," to which she replied, "Definitely support and having patience and know when to just stop and breathe."

Scott added to what his wife said, reflecting on some of the sentiment he made clear in his book.

"I wouldn't even be here without this woman. I just thank God everyday for putting her in my life. I think for all wives out there, you can be such a divine instrument for God in your husband's lives, and that's such a pivotal role," he said.
