Scarlett Johansson News: 'Iron Man 2' Actress Talks About Her Black Widow Role

Scarlett Johansson has carried the role as Black Widow flawlessly ever since she was first cast in 'Iron Man 2'.

She has become an integral part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe and is plays the first female character to have done so, and in a recent interview with W Magazine, the actress talks on how she landed the role, along with what attracted her to it.

"People were surprised that I wanted to play a comic book heroine," Johansson states, "But I loved Iron Man, and I met with Marvel to see what was possible. I had done my research, and the Black Widow character resonated with me. She is dark and has faced death so many times that she has a deep perspective on the value of life. In the sequel, you learn more about the sadness in her past. I think of her that way. Black Widow is a superhero, but she's also human. She's small, but she's strong. It's hard not to admire her."

Her character has gained enough popularity to even be considered for her own solo film. Nothing has been confirmed for it, but it has definitely been spoken about.

Fans will get to see Johansson reprise the role as soon as May in 'Avengers: Age of Ultron'.
