Season 5 of "Scandal" returns to television soon and as for the latest news, a new actor will be joining the show. The X-Files" star Annabeth Gish will be taking part in the series for a recurring role.

The report came from Deadline, however, the said role still is under wraps and the production team's lips are still sealed. On the other hand, Carter Matt believes that Gish could portray as someone who needs a helping hand from Olivia Hope and her team.

More than that, she is also speculated to play as President Grant's fixer who would help the politician step out of his position with a clean slate. Meanwhile, Gish is also guessed to play as a Republican who will be going head-to-head against Mellie, who is played by Bellamy Young.

She might also hold a strong role as a candidate as guessed from Australia Network News. The reason behind this possibility is because the show will be fast-forwarding to six months after the mid-season finale when the campaign for the presidential election arises.

In the meantime, Bellamy Young shared her excitement via Entertainment Weekly as she said that watchers would be thrilled to see the remaining episodes of Season 5. "I cannot wait for everybody to see some new and old faces," as we quote.

It's good and juicy," she added. After its winter hiatus, "Scandal" will be back on TV with the second half of season 5, the upcoming episode 10 will premiere on Thursday, February 11 at 9pm on ABC.
