'Scandal' creator Shonda Rhimes has recently revealed some major spoilers about the upcoming Season 4, which is set to premiere on September 25, 2014.

Viewers will have to pay attention to what will happen between the characters Fitz and Olivia when the series returns. One of the most highlighted moments, that was rumored to be part of the fourth season, is the scene when Fitz and Mellie reunite. They will come together once again and close the book on the mourning for the loss of their child.

Beyond that, Rhimes revealed that the upcoming installment will focus a lot on the character Abby. However, fans should know that Olivia will receive just as much screen-time as Abby, if not more. Additionally, a report from Christian Post shined a light on a rumor that claimed Papa Pope had hopped into the plane without his daughter's knowledge in Season 3.

Show runner Shonda Rhimes also mentioned that Columbus Short will no longer be part of the show as his contract has not been renewed for Season 4 of 'Scandal'.

With the character's loss already confirmed, many fans speculate that casting for the show has begun as a result. On that note, reports have surfaced saying Portia de Rossi might be joining the cast for the fourth season, however, that is unconfirmed. Another rumor mentioned the addition of an African-American character, in between the age of 30 and 50, on the show as one of the lawyers.
