In Scandal, Season 4 Episode 21, Vice President Ross visits a naval base for a photo op, where she sees Amy Martin, an Ensign. She makes note of a bruise on Martin's wrist and concludes correctly that Amy was raped by another officer.

Ross confronts Fitz and Cyrus about taking actions on Amy's behalf, but the men are upset, referencing the law that military indiscretions must be tried in military court.

Amy knows already about the existence of these laws, and for this reason does not want to cause too much trouble because the man she was violated was an excessively decorated naval officer.

Olivia takes charge of the situation, holding a press conference that sheds light on the injustices taking place.

This episode of Scandal, entitled "A Few Good Women", also dissects the issues and realities of getting an abortion after military rape.

Amy finds out that she is pregnant and requests that Olivia take her to get an abortion.

Olivia meets her demands while winning Amy's case without the necessity of DNA tests, which could have caused her some trauma.

Amy's case was eventually resolved with the case of security footage, and Mellie uses the situation to rally the votes of women so that she can win the Senator seat.
