'Scandal ' Season 4 Recap and Spoilers: 'Where's the Black Lady?' - Fitz and Jake Set Aside Differences?
As far as titles go, this one takes the cake. While we have always been fans of the quirky titles that 'Scandal' has come up with, this one had us kind of scratching our heads.
In regards to episode title, "Where's the Black Lady?," just who were they referring to? This comes along with a host of other questions on the minds of viewers that left us hanging from Episode 10.
The plotline regarding Olivia has been a bit absurd, but other than that, this episode is pretty enjoyable as expected. Marla Bigg, also known for her roll on the 'Jeffersons' several years ago, guest starts. Her character, Rose, is around and helps to tie up some loose ends that left the last episode wide open.
Apartment R, where Olivia is supposedly being held captive turns out to be below Rose's and is Lois' apartment. After not hearing from Lois for a quite some time, Rose decides to check on her friend and instead finds Olivia. Olivia decides that she can also help her find her friend Lois. With a throwback to the episode's title, Olivia Pope exclaims, "Where is the black lady? The one in charge."
While this plot is thickening, VP Andrew manages to try to get many members of the west wing on his side to have Fitz declare war on West Angola. Fitz desperately tries to get the FBI, NSA and CIA to help him on his quest to find Olivia.
Instead, he is met with a rude awakening and discovers White House staffers are watching his every move. Instead of helping him, they are intent on taking drastic measures to keep him from finding Olivia.
This makes Fitz a bit paranoid but he finds a moment to tell his wife Mellie, that his mistress has been kidnapped. While you would expect Millie to be shocked, instead her response insinuated that he should go get his girl.
Fitz also searched for advice from Tom, as viewers might remember was the Secret Service Agent who had murdered Jerry. He only confirms Fitz's suspicions by telling him that there is simply no one that he can trust.
Tom also suggests an idea for them to speak about it privately in Olivia's apartment. It also seems that Fitz and Jake are putting aside their differences during their discussion and try to determine how to get Olivia home safely from her captors.
