'Scandal' Mid-Season Premiere Spoilers: Episode Brings up Olivia's Disappearance
Fans of the hit ABC show "Scandal" are burning to find out what happens to Ms. Olivia Pope, especially after the cliffhanger ending in the mid-season finale.
Show's writer Shonda Rhimes made herself available in an interview with TV Line to give fans a hint of what they can expect in the return of Season 4 of the series.
Rhimes has confirmed that the show will take place right where it ended off at, perhaps even a few moments before.
"No time will have lapsed and negative time will have lapsed," Rhimes states.
This indicates we'll be placed back in the moment where Jake runs down the hall for said blanket.
Rhimes also spoke Olivia Pope's disappearance and how the show will continue on.
"Given Scandal's standing as the most secretive of the Shondaland shows, Rhimes would be remiss to reveal much more about Olivia's vanishing, other than to confirm, 'It's definitely not going to be a one-episode, short little thing'. Rather, Liv may be missing - yet still on screen, don't you worry - for weeks," writes TV Line.
Rhimes goes on to say, "We're taking Olivia to a place that she hasn't been before. We are growing Olivia in a different direction. And we are growing the show in the direction that we've been headed towards for a while."
This will definitely be a change of pace for longtime fans of the show, but Rhimes confirms that "Scandal" will still keep it's continuity.
When asked how she felt on the mid-season premiere, Rhimes commented:
"It is probably my favorite episode that we've done, ever. It's my favorite episode that I've written, of anything that I've written. But it's probably our favorite episode that we've done ever."
The "Scandal" mid-season premiere aired on Thursday, January 29th.
