Sandra Lee Breast Cancer Update: Partner of NYS Governor Thanks Fans as She Recovers from Surgery
As Sandra Lee continues to recover from her double mastectomy at home, she turns to her fans for some of the support and strength that she needs.
In fact, she shared a post on her Facebook page, in which she expressed her gratitude towards her fans and fellow breast cancer patients for sharing their personal experiences of their battles with cancer.
The post read, "So many of you have shared with me how weepy and emotional you were post surgery. I cannot POSSIBLY express how much this means to me."
In addition to the post, Lee, the 48 year old celebrity chef, shared a photo of herself wrapped up in a blanket in bed, drinking water.
She has been sharing regular updates through social media about her progress since she had her operation on May 19.
Lee was treated for her diagnosis at Mount Sinai Dubin Breast Center in New York City, while her partner of 10 years, New York Governor Andrew Cuomo, has stood by her side throughout the entire process.
In her "thank you" post, Lee went on to tell her fans and fellow cancer warriors that their honesty in telling their stories is what has helped to motivate her.
"If you did not share your own stories with such honesty, integrity and personal details, I would be hopeless," she wrote. "Thank you for giving me hope. You inspire me! #StandUptoCancer".
Lee also gave thanks to the medical team at the Dubin Breast Center in a statement to People magazine.
She stated that she is on her way to recovery and healing thanks to them.
