San Diego Comic-Con 2015 News: Marvel Will Not Be Appearing at Event
In some very disappointing news, it has now been officially confirmed that Marvel will not have a presence at San Diego's Comic-Con's Hall H, despite their staple appearances in recent years.
The news was actually previously dropped by 'Guardians of the Galaxy' director James Gunn a couple months ago, however it hasn't been until just recently that Marvel President Kevin Feige made the announcement.
It's been reported that with so many hit franchises in motion at the moment, the studio just doesn't have anything new for this year, however this is also the time that the fans want the ins on what is actually going on the most.
"That happened in 2011, the last time Marvel skipped the Con. Too bad, because Marvel panels rarely disappoint, going back to 2009, when Robert Downey Jr took the stage and gave a whole Tony Stark performance for Iron Man 2. The following year was crazier, with the full cast of The Avengers being introduced. In 2012, the Guardians Of The Galaxy cast was announced, the Iron Man 3 trailer revealed, and Edgar Wright showed groundbreaking footage of Ant-Man, which at the time he was directing until he fell out with Feige over creative differences," writes Deadline.
This will at least give DC and Warner Bros. a moment to gain a one-up on Marvel Studios, as they will be hosting a big panel this year.
"That cedes the stage for Warner Bros-based DC, which will be holding a significant presentation to introduce the Zack Snyder-directed Batman v Superman: Dawn Of Justice and Suicide Squad, both of which reach theaters next year, followed by the Gal Gadot starrer Wonder Woman and Justice League, Part One, which arrive in 2017," writes Deadline.
