The San Antonio Spurs will face the Washington Wizards on January 13 at the Verizon Center in Washington, District of Columbia.

The defending World Champion San Antonio Spurs (23-15) are looking to lengthen their winning streak to three games when they battle the Wizards on Tuesday night.

"We're disappointed we're in the position we are," said San Antonio head coach Gregg Popovich to reporters in reference to being in seventh place in the Western Conference this year so far.

"We lost some games we could have won. And we were just injured at the wrong time. December was a heck of a month for us schedule-wise, and being injured at that time was tough. So now we have to suck it up and try to catch up with some guys."

Previously, Spurs recently pummeled the Minnesota Timberwolves by a final score of 108-93 on January 10 after San Antonio small forward Austin Daye had 22 points and 10 rebounds in the victory.

"Pop believes in all his players and you know he'll throw you into weird situations at any time," said Daye to reporters.

"So you just got to be ready."

Meanwhile, the Wizards (25-12) are attempting to halt a possible two game losing streak when they defend their home court versus the reigning NBA Champions at the Verizon Center.

Previously, the Wizards were embarrassed by their Southeast foe the Atlanta Hawks by a final score of 120-89 on Sunday afternoon; a game where Washington point guard John Wall had 15 points, 8 assists, 2 blocks and 2 steals which ignited his squad to the victory.

"They cause turnovers, they cause deflections, they stay within their principles and they just run," said Wizards small forward Paul Pierce to reporters.

"They keep coming offensively. They shoot the ball, they keep moving. They had better discipline than us tonight."
