The San Antonio Spurs will battle the Portland Trail Blazers on January 16 at the AT&T Center in San Antonio, Texas.

The defending World Champion San Antonio Spurs (24-16) are looking to lengthen their current winning streak to two games when they host the Trail Blazers on Friday night.

"Nothing seems to be easy for us this year," said San Antonio shooting guard Manu Ginobili to reporters.

We are playing a lot of close games. But we are learning from it."

Previously, Spurs defeated the Charlotte Hornets by a final score of 98-93 on January 14 after Manu Ginobili scored 27 points in the victory.

"We had an opportunity to win some other games and we've blown them," said San Antonio head coach Gregg Popovich to reporters.

"Tonight we came through so it feels pretty good."

Meanwhile, the Trail Blazers (30-9) looking to avoid a possible two game losing streak when they battle the Spurs at AT&T Center.

Previously, Portland was defeated by the Los Angeles Clippers by a score of 100-94 on Wednesday night after Trail Blazers power forward LaMarcus Aldridge totaled 37 points, 12 rebounds and a block in a losing effort.

"Usually in the fourth quarter when we have the lead with five minutes to go, we're pretty good in those situations. Give the Clippers credit; they made plays. They got stops when they needed to," said Trail Blazers head coach Terry Stotts to reporters.
