'Samurai Jack' 2016 Comes Back With A New Season [WATCH]

Genndy Tartakovsky is bringing back one of the most watched cartoon series that he has created, "Samurai Jack."

The show that ran 52 episodes from 2001-2004 will be returning to Adult Swim. The American cable network has done a great job in releasing an electrifying five second teaser about it.

Tartakovsky is also responsible for "Dexter's Laboratory," the animated "Star Wars: Clone Wars" mini series, "Sym-Bionic Titan" and the recent "Hotel Transylvania" franchise. Tartakovsky was also working for a "Popeye" movie until a fallout happened between him and the studio, according to geek.com.

In an interview with Cartoon Brew, Tartakovsky revealed that "the time is ripe" for a Samurai Jack return.

x"In the last five years, I've traveled quite a bit domestically and internationally, and wherever I go, Samurai Jack is number one. People are so appreciative of and inspired by it; which is really nice. I feel like it is more popular now than it was when it actually aired," Tartakovsky said.

He also said that he added new people to his team while being able to keep its core members.

"But now, everyone is kind of spread out, so I'm trying to find that perfect home. Basically, I want to be in a situation where people want to make my stuff, whether that is features or television or whatever. I have a lot of stories to tell, and I need a place to tell them," he continued.

So far, that's all the updates available. Soon enough we'll all be able to see our favorite Japanese swordsman back in action.
