Samuel L. Jackson News: Nick Fury Actor has Two More Movies in Marvel Contract
Actor Samuel L. Jackson has recently brought to fans' attention the amount of movies he has left in his contract to portray the titular Nick Fury character in the Marvel films.
Jackson's character has not only help set the Marvel Cinematic Universe in motion, but he's remained a major centerpiece within a lot of the movies and is probably one of the franchise's strongest actors.
"Jackson has more than made the character of Nick Fury his own ever since making his Marvel's Cinematic Universe debut in 2008's Iron Man. He then followed this up with appearances in Iron Man 2, Thor, Captain America: The First Avenger, The Avengers, and Captain America: The Winter Soldier. Meanwhile it's already been confirmed that we will see him in Avengers: Age Of Ultron too," writes Cinema Blend.
In a recent interview with IGN, the actor says:
"Yeah, I've only got two more movies in my contract. [Laughs] That might be the end of it, unless I get an extension."
An extension would sound pretty good to fans, as the MCU has announced countless projects that they'll have brewing in the coming years, and without Jackson's character, the movies may have to reinvent their premise.
A recasting could also be an option, but at this point that move may just detract from the franchise as a whole.
There has not been any word on what the actor's or Marvel's next move will be.
